Where to find your GMC paint colour code
Your GMC's paint code is on the Service Parts Identification label in the glovebox. Here's where to look, what the code looks like, and how to find your colour if it's missing.

Where to look on your GMC
- Glovebox. Look for the white Service Parts Identification label on the inside of the glovebox lid or wall. It's covered in three-character option codes.
- Boot. On older models the same label is on the spare wheel cover or under the boot floor.
- Door jamb. Open the driver's door and check the B-pillar, the upright between the front and rear doors, for a label or plate. If it's not there, try the passenger side.
What the code looks like
On the Service Parts Identification label, look for the code after BC/CC or WA, such as WA8555 for black, or a three-character code starting with G among the option codes, such as GB8 (Mosaic Black). The rest of the label is option codes, which you can ignore.

- GMC isn't sold new in the UK, so there's usually no local dealer to ask. If the car was imported, the importer may have its build records. Otherwise, bring a part into a branch and we'll match it.
- Search by colour. If you know the colour name or roughly what colour it is, filter our GMC colour codes by colour and year to narrow it down.

What you’ll need

Solid colours
One paint. It dries to a gloss finish, so no lacquer is needed.

Two-stage
Metallic, pearl and most modern colours
Basecoat, then clear lacquer over the top. Matt colours need a matt lacquer instead.

Three-stage
Pearl tri-coat colours
Basecoat, a pearl mid-coat, then clear lacquer. Order both paints together so they match.
