Where to find your Jeep paint colour code
Your Jeep's paint code is on a label in the driver's door jamb. Here's where to look, what the code looks like, and how to find your colour if it's missing.

Where to look on your Jeep
- Door jamb. Open the driver's door and look for the label on the door pillar or the edge of the door. The paint code is marked PNT or Paint.
- Under the bonnet. Older models have a body code plate on the slam panel or an inner wing.
What the code looks like
The code on the car is three characters starting with P, such as PX8 (Black), PW7 (Bright White) or PXR (Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl). That P is the sales code; the paint maker uses a different first letter for the same colour.

Can't find the door jamb label?
- Call your local Jeep dealership, ask for the Parts department, and give them your registration or VIN. They can look up the factory colour code.
- Search by colour. If you know the colour name or roughly what colour it is, filter our Jeep colour codes by colour and year to narrow it down.

Solid colours
One paint. It dries to a gloss finish, so no lacquer is needed.

Two-stage
Metallic, pearl and most modern colours
Basecoat, then clear lacquer over the top. Matt colours need a matt lacquer instead.

Three-stage
Pearl tri-coat colours
Basecoat, a pearl mid-coat, then clear lacquer. Order both paints together so they match.
