Where to find your Mini paint colour code
Your Mini's paint code is on a label under the bonnet or in the door jamb. Here's where to look, what the code looks like, and how to find your colour if it's missing.

Where to look on your Mini
- Under the bonnet. On most Minis the label is on the front slam panel or a suspension turret.
- Door jamb. Open the driver's door and check the B-pillar, the upright between the front and rear doors, for a label or plate. If it's not there, try the passenger side.
What the code looks like
Mini codes are three characters, such as 850 (Pepper White), 851 (Chili Red) or B11 (Absolute Black).

What you’ll need
Once you have the code, the finish tells you what to order. Mini colours fall into these groups:
Single-stage
Solid colours
One paint. It dries to a gloss finish, so no lacquer is needed.
7 Mini colours
Two-stage
Metallic, pearl and most modern colours
Basecoat, then clear lacquer over the top. Matt colours need a matt lacquer instead.
135 Mini colours
Three-stage
Pearl tri-coat colours
Basecoat, a pearl mid-coat, then clear lacquer. Order both paints together so they match.
