Where to find your TVR paint colour code
Your TVR's paint code is on the identification plate, usually under the bonnet or in the door jamb. Here's where to look, what the code looks like, and how to find your colour if it's missing.

Where to look on your TVR
- Under the bonnet. On older models, check the slam panel across the front of the engine bay, the bulkhead at the back of it, and the tops of the suspension turrets.
- Door jamb. Open the driver's door and check the B-pillar, the upright between the front and rear doors, for a label or plate. If it's not there, try the passenger side.
- Service book. Some cars have a copy of the label, or the colour written in, at the front of the service book.
What the code looks like
TVR paint codes are usually a short number or a mix of letters and numbers, stamped on or printed next to the car's identification plate.

- TVR is no longer on sale, so there's no dealer to ask. An owners' club can often tell you the original colour from the chassis number, or bring a part into a branch and we'll match it.
- Search by colour. If you know the colour name or roughly what colour it is, filter our TVR colour codes by colour and year to narrow it down.

Once you have the code, the finish tells you what to order. TVR colours fall into these groups:
Single-stage
Solid colours
One paint. It dries to a gloss finish, so no lacquer is needed.
3 TVR colours
Two-stage
Metallic, pearl and most modern colours
Basecoat, then clear lacquer over the top.
21 TVR colours
Three-stage
Pearl tri-coat colours
Basecoat, a pearl mid-coat, then clear lacquer. Order both paints together so they match.
2 TVR colours
